About the Program
Abantu Mu Buntu
After watching an exhilarating performance from the Ugandan youth performance troupe Abantu Mu Buntu, students interact with the Ugandan student performers via Zoom, asking questions and discussing similarities and differences in cultural practices and lifestyle. Following the Q&A, American students sing, dance and drum with the Ugandans.
Students will experience:
- A fully-narrated video recording of Ugandan traditional dancing, drumming and singing numbers filmed by the performers at Tender Talents Theatre
- A 30-minute live interactive workshop connecting U.S. students with performers in Uganda
- Short tour of Tender Talents School
- Singing, dancing and drumming with performers
- Sharing of cultural artifacts
