It is custom in my village for the women to wash clothes in the river. We go there on horses. I started going with the women ever since I was 7 years old, I was given my sisters sandals. When I was 12, I started washing my dad’s clothes. I started by washing his shoes then later his slacks. When we are done washing clothes we get into the river ourselves and go for a swim. After bathing we go home which is an hour long trip. At home we hang the clothes to dry.

We take care of the dressy clothes we have by washing them every 3 days. This is the tradition in my village.
