About the Artwork

My artwork shows a dog sitting in an empty room, the dog is made of trash that pollutes North America. These food packages are not only harmful to our beautiful East Coast, the food that came in them often contributes to America’s obesity pandemic. Keeping the earth clean is important to me because our beautiful beaches on the East Coast are usually covered in garbage. One big way you can help preserve the environment is through recycling. This is obviously a big point in my piece and it does deeply affect the environment and my everyday life.

Clean Earth, Healthy People vs. Obesity and Recycling.

As a result of eating too much junk food, my dad developed congestive heart failure and that can happen to anyone with an unhealthy food background. A majority of my family is Southern Italian-American, my great grandma immigrated here in the early 1900s. I have a brother, sister and dog named Chip who is a black lab. I have 25+ cousins on one side of my family. Things I like to do in my free time include reading, horseback riding, cooking, and going to the sound (Long Island Sound in Connecticut). Reading and cooking are things I have done since I was very young. One thing I dislike is goats, I don’t know why I just don’t like goats. When I grow up I want to be an Allergist and Immunologist. It is a doctor who studies/diagnoses and tests allergies and other irritations to a human. What drove me to want to do this is that I have Celiac Disease and I want to be able to help others who have to live with it. I may also consider a role in politics.
