About the Artwork

This is my younger cousin goofing off by playing two recorders with his nose. The quarantine has made us be silly sometimes so that we can stay happy and relieve stress. We rely on each other to make our immediate environment bearable. The natural environment changed so much when COVID-19 hit us all. When it got cold, a lot of my friends and I were “trapped” inside. When we couldn’t go out somewhere, we found ways to entertain each other. Trash is definitely building up with everyone inside but we can still do our part to reuse things and recycle.

Family, Entertainment, and Mental Health.

I live with my immediate family: my mom, dad, and twin brother. My brother and I are second-generation Chinese-Americans. I also have three cousins on my dad’s side – 2 girls ages 9 and 10, and a 4-year-old boy. I draw a lot! Anything ranging from lovable character designs to more traditional, finished works. I often do timed gesture drawings for practice. I love watching cute/sentimental animation (Disney, Pixar, Studio Ghiblii) and reading webtoons. I’ve also been playing a lot of the game Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I enjoy computer programming, writing, and reading. I love animals and eating dessert. I dislike large parties and I think that Skittles (the candy) are disgusting. My biggest pet peeve is people being on their phones when I talk to them. In the future I want to get into a good college haha! In all seriousness, just to find myself; find what I love, and find my people. I especially want to work on my shyness and self-confidence. Also pick up new skills such as embroidery, cooking, and another coding language.
