About the Artwork

In my piece it shows a place in Chicago called Little Village. I drew some of the things that stand out to me the most and some things that Little Village is most known for. In my drawing, you can see a dancer doing a cultural dance, under the welcoming arch that you see right when you drive into Little Village, called Baile Folklorico, you typically see this in the Mexican Independence Day Parade. You can also see a Paletero Man (ice cream man); next to him is the bakery and an ice cream shop and my family walking around 26th street. Lastly, on top is, an environmental protest.

Appreciation for Culture, History and Family.

I help preserve the environment by cleaning up places in my community that haven’t been touched in years and people are just used to throwing old things away. I also educate others about what little things they can do to prevent our earth from dying away. I have a family of five (5) my mum, father and two brothers. I also have a fish named Wednesday and a kitten named Katerina. In my free time I like to paint while listening to music, read and write short stories, journaling, listening to true crime stories and learning about History. When I grow up my goal is to write a book and live a healthy and happy life. In college I want to major in Liberal Arts or Criminal Justice.
