2017 Lifelines – Aspectos Vitais: The Convergence of Arts, Ecology and Culture in the Amazon and New England is an environmental and cultural-based project designed to connect a group of Bridgeport high school students from FairChild Wheeler Interdistrict Magnet School with their Brazilian peers in the Amazonian rainforest.

Funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered by the American Alliance of Museums, Lifelines was facilitated by the partnership between Stepping Stones Museum for Children in Norwalk, CT and the Museu Paraense Emilio Goeldi in Belém de Pará, wit the collaboration of Creative Connections and the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk.

This yearlong exchange program allowed Connecticut and Brazilian teams of students, facilitators and teachers in the international exploration of watersheds as ecological, cultural and economic lifelines.
