Enabling underserved students in the USA and around the world to engage in arts-based exchanges that foster global understanding and empathy.

David was Creative Connections’ long-term Board Chairman. His eye for capturing the dignity, culture, and spirit of those he met on his world travels, and his joy in sharing his insights creatively, was an example for us all.

Susie was one of Creative Connections’ greatest champions and supporters. She was always willing to lend a hand, blending her artistic talents and keen eye in serving on our ArtLink jury selection and fundraising/ event planning committees each year. We loved working with her.

To carry on their legacy of supporting meaningful connections that both broaden and deepen global perspectives, we are honored to establish the David and Susie Hurwitt Scholarship Fund.

Over the past year, this fund has enabled many classrooms in underserved schools impacting hundreds of students here in the US and in Uganda, Estonia, India, Jordan, and Guatemala to connect with one another through the exchange of art and live videoconferencing.

In addition to being a dedicated supporter of Creative Connections’ work, David was also a talented photographer.

These images of children around the world are just some of the many photographs he took during his travels.
