Blog good waterThis past week our 2011 International Children’s Art Exhibit “WATER” closed. We were thrilled to have this year’s art show held at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, CT. It has been an exciting three months. The art work was enjoyed by thousands of visitors to the Maritime Aquarium and the response to the show has been wonderful.

This was one of the art pieces on display at the show, it is titled: Traditional Unity in the Community by Aloyo I. A. age 14 from the Kampala Quality Primary School in Uganda. The artist describes her scene as, “Three girls pouring water in the bigger pot, showing hardworking in the community and unity. It is our traditional way of fetching water. Sharing and togetherness in the community can help us do great things for well being.”

Next year’s theme is “Putting Myself in the Picture”. We are asking our participating artists to illustrate an aspect of their culture that is particularly meaningful, one that expresses a cultural value or belief that they want to share. And, to put themselves somewhere in their art piece. This art exhibit will be in May of 2012 and it promises to be extraordinary.
