Over the past three months, Creative Connections has expanded Ethics Lab internationally, launched Global Voices–ArtLink Cycle 2 across 10 countries, extended our global student art exhibit, and curated the 2026 International Art Portfolio.

Here’s what that means for our community.

1

On the Ground in Pakistan

Alan Steckler founded Creative Connections over 30 years ago on the belief that creativity and human connection can change lives. Ethics Lab is the next chapter of our mission, bringing that belief into today’s world, giving students the ethical tools and moral courage to navigate a complex world together.

Recently, Alan and Tim Steckler traveled to Pakistan and had the opportunity to lead Ethics Lab workshops at the Karachi School (run by the Pakistani Youth Organization). Students engaged in conversations around values, responsibility, and cross-cultural understanding through interactive theater exercises and dialogue.

Global Voices: Ethics Lab is a global, arts-driven learning experience where students explore values, practice ethical decision-making, and build empathy across cultures, safely and creatively.

The Show Goes On

We’re thrilled to share that My Story, Our Lives, our global student art exhibit, is now open through June 12th! This gives you extra time to explore the powerful voices, creativity, and experiences that connect us all.

Visit the Housatonic Museum of Art and immerse yourself in the stories of students from Bridgeport and Ukraine, all brought to life through our Global Voices–ArtLink program.

This exhibit features a selection of “Meet the Artist” videos, where 12 GV-ArtLink students share the stories behind their artwork. You can also view these videos on our website.

This extension gives our community additional time to experience the creativity and stories shared across cultures.

Location:

Housatonic Museum of Art, Beacon Hall, 3rd Floor

Coming Soon: 2026 International Art Portfolio (IAP)

The IAP gathers student voices together across borders, languages, and lived experiences. It is a reminder that while our students grow up in different countries, their hopes, questions, and dreams speak to one another.

This year’s cover artwork, My Passion, My Future, was created by Glory, a student artist from Nigeria.

Glory shares: “The story is illustrating me painting in an art studio in my school. It talks about what I want to be in life and my passion for the future. [My cultural heritage] is important to me because it reminds me of who I am and where I am from.”

The IAP will be distributed to all currently enrolled Global Voices-ArtLink teachers & students.

A Note to Our Community

In times that feel unsettled, student art becomes a language of compassion, dignity, resilience, and care for one another.

Their voices matter.

Our work remains focused on supporting teachers and students, and nurturing belonging through
connection and creativity.

A New Chapter Begins!

We’re pleased to announce our move to a new space that better supports our work, our team, and our future!

While our address is changing, our mission remains the same: connecting students across cultures through art and dialogue.

Our work will continue without interruption throughout this transition.

More details to be shared soon!
