Children are doing all kinds of activities: playing on the swings and the seesaw, jumping rope, playing badminton and soccer.
My neigbourhood has mostly Madurese people from the island of Madura just off the coast. Nearly all the families work as small traders, like my parents. They have a vegetable stall in a small market, and they get up early every day at 5 AM to buy vegetable stocks at the wholesale market. I like to fly kites, and I like to draw. I use whatever I can find — pencils and scrap paper or chalk for drawing on the floor at home or on the asphalt of the laneway.
