What Is the Story?
My story is when I hit my first out of the park home run in baseball. It took place last year in the spring at the field Anix in New Haven. It was early in the morning when the game started. I had to be there for 8:30 for a game at 10:00. Even though I was tired I was still excited to be there. It was the last game of the regular season and we were playing one of the best teams in our division. When the game started, the other team was on a roll. After the first 6 innings, they were up 5 with the score 7 to 3. At the top of the sixth inning, we made some errors in the field which cost us some runs. My team was frustrated and angry but we eventually ended the inning and it was our turn at the plate. We managed to get some runs in and get our score from 3 to 5 and two runners on base. Our next two batters struck out and then I was up. I was ready to hit and was locked in. Even with my focus, I missed the first two curve balls thrown at me bringing the count to two strikes. I took a deep breath and got set at the plate. The pitcher winded up and, WHACK! I hit it right over the fence for my first ever out of the park home run.

My story takes place at a baseball field called Anix in New Haven Connecticut.
When does it Take Place?
My story starts on the weekend and it goes from 8:30 to 10:00. When I hit my home run it was the first game in the 6th inning.
What do you want to be Understood about You/Your Culture?
I want people to understand about me is that I always try my best and work my hardest no matter what I’m doing. In my story, I show that I tried my best and worked my hardest because I had two strikes on me and there were two outs, and I could have just gotten frustrated and upset and accepted that I couldn’t hit off this real good pitcher. Instead, I took a deep breath, got set, and I hit a home run.

In my family we always work hard and do not give up. My story shows these cultural heritages because I worked hard at hitting every day, and eventually I managed to hit a home run. The story also shows that I didn’t give up because even though I had two strikes on me and there were tow outs, I persevered and hit the home run.
In What Ways is Cultural Heritage Important?
My cultural heritage is important to me because it shaped me into who I am now. These rules that I try to live by help me to succeed in many things. It helps me succeed in trying to do good in sports, do good in schoolwork like tests and quizzes, and doing things that I don’t usually like doing like mowing the lawn. It is also important to me because it shows others what I try to be. I don’t want people thinking I’m lazy, so it’s important that I always try my best and work my hardest so I can show to people that I am a hard worker.
Likes and Dislikes
One of my likes is snowboarding. I like doing this because it is fun, fast paced, and I get to hang out with my friends. One of my dislikes is having baseball practices at 8:00 at night. On Friday nights at 8:00, I would go to the baseball facility to practice catching off of pitchers. I would enjoy doing this only if it wasn’t at 8:00 pm. I was really tired going to those practices every time and this caused me to perform not as good.
Free Time Activities
In my free time I like to fish, ride dirtbikes, snowboard, and play basketball. I like to fish with my friends at rivers and ponds. I also like to go to the track up in Massachusetts and ride my dirtbike, or I will ride around with some of my friends. In winter, I like to go to Mt Southington and Powder Ridge to snowboard with my friends. Sometimes I will go to the basketball courts with my friends and we will play basketball with each other.
My Role Model
My role model is Aaron Judge. This is because he never gives up and always trying his best, so I look up to him. He worked really hard to get into the MLB and worked even harder to achieve some of his greatest accomplishments. These accomplishments are breaking the American record for the most home runs in one season, winning 3 MVP awards, and being the fastest player ever to get 300 career home runs. He showed that he always tries his best and works hard, which is why he is my role model.
Career Goals
I want to play either baseball or basketball when I grow up. This is because these are my two favorite sports and I enjoy playing them. I like baseball and basketball because there is a lot of competition and you have to work hard. I do like basketball more though because it is faster paced than baseball and it doesn’t take a lot of time out of my day. baseball is sometimes 4 hours long, (If you have a double header) while basketball is usually an hour.
