About the Artwork

My dad and I go to the temple, there is a golden furnace where we burn joss paper. This is my first time burning joss paper. I think it’s interesting, because it gets really windy when we burn joss paper, the wind blows towards the furnace and quickly carries the joss paper into the furnace. This is my first time burning joss paper, I realized that the reason for burning the paper is to give money to our relatives that have already passed. It’s money for them to use in heaven.

My parents care a lot about manners. They don’t care so much about grades as long as we work hard. My little brother has pretty good grades, he likes playing games and is good at it. He wants to be a gamer when he grows up. I like eating because that makes me happy. I don’t like eating vegetables, they all taste weird. My goal is to get better grades because that’s the only way for me to get into a school I want. When I grow up, I want to become a chef and make delicious food for my family.
