About the Show
About the Show
“My Story Revealed” was on display at the New Canaan Library. This exhibit honored the art of storytelling by showcasing the compelling and diverse experiences of some of the 8-18 year old students taking part in our international Global Voices – ArtLink exchanges over three decades.
Whether their pieces are beautifully rendered or simply drawn, delightful or thought provoking, the creation of these pieces has been a journey of self-discovery. Through their work, the young artists have expressed their identities, shared their stories, and conveyed the aspects of their lives and society they treasure – or are concerned about.
This collection brought together diverse artistic youth voices from 28 ArtLink partner countries (see map below), transcending political systems and geographical boundaries. We believe that art is a universal language, uniting us through the shared experiences and dreams of its young creators, promoting a common humanity that will lead to a more peaceful future.
While the exhibit at the New Canaan Library has ended, you can still explore the virtual exhibit. We invite you, the viewer, to reflect on your own story, your own journey, cultivating a deeper sense of empathy and appreciation for the multi-faceted tapestry of human experiences we are all part of.
It is our honor to dedicate this show to Susie Salomon.
We want to extend our thanks to the New Canaan Library for hosting the art exhibit. You can learn more about the library here.

About The Susie Salomon Visionary Award
About the Award
This year’s Susie Salomon Visionary Award was presented at the art show opening to Kyra Litschauer of Woodstock Middle School. Since 2018, she has been an exceptional partner educator, working with Creative Connections to bring the Global Voices – ArtLink program to 18 seventh-grade classes. She has inspired students to share their stories through insightful art and thoughtful dialogue with their peers in Guatemala, Honduras, Brazil and Ukraine. The experience started them on a transformative journey towards empathetic global citizenship.
