On Tuesday August 16, 2011 we were visited by Fatou Bin Jobe from The Gambia, pictured here with Alan Steckler. Fatou is the head of Marina International School located in Banjul, the country’s capital and she is also the founder of the ABC Learning Center in Banjul. Marina International School is The Gambia’s premier international school. A Better Chance (ABC) Learning Center opened in April of 1998 in Banjul. ABC Learning Center is an after-school remedial program that focuses on helping middle and high school students with reading and writing skills.
Students from the Marina International School have been involved with our Artlink programs in the past and we are excited to welcome them back to participate with some of our US classes this fall.
Fatou is a gifted teacher, a brilliant administrator and an inspiration to everyone she meets! We all enjoyed having her here at Creative Connections for the day and we look forward to working with her and her students.
