This beautiful art work was created by a young artist from Nigeria. His class was partnered with a class from Scofield Magnet Middle School in Stamford, CT USA.

The dancers in his piece are illuminated by large yellow spot lights, which are helping to light their way. This image falls perfectly into the parameters of this year’s theme, to reveal fascinating aspects of one’s culture and to include a source of light.

He describes his work, “In my painting, the dancers are performing their dance for the spectators.  Their wonderful performance makes everyone love to see them every time they are dancing at the theater.  The value I am depicting is hard work.  Practice, practice, practice, as my dad will always say, will help you achieve your goals.”

So true!

He hopes to become an artist when he grows up. I think it is safe to say he is well on his way!
