About the Artwork

Medium: Oil pastel

My scene shows mixed traditions of Filipinos. On the left side it illustrates “Simbang Gabi,” which we celebrate during Christmas season. On the right side, it is a house decorated with many products of agriculture which we get from our fertile land. It is also called Fiesta or Festival. In the center, it shows “Pagmamano,” or kissing the hands of the elders which represents the good values of Filipinos.

I am a daughter of Mr. Mario Alcabasa Jr. and Mrs. Alona Perez. I have four siblings, and we are a happy family. I like to play volleyball and badminton. Also, I like eating American and Filipino foods but I hate Italian one. I spend my free time doing art works, reading books, and making greeting cards. I hope to finish my studies, have a good job and to help poor people.
