What Is the Story?
My story is illustrating peace and unity because if you see the chess game it has one color, white, representing a side of the board with a common goal, which is destroying the opponent.
Why did You Select this Story?
I selected this story because in life it is so hard to find out what I do best, I tried many things but chess found me, and all my siblings got interested and it was so fun.
Who is in Your Story?
Me and my brother.
Where does It Take Place?
It takes place at home.
When does it Take Place?
My story takes place around eight months ago, the beginning of the year and in the evening.
What do you want to be Understood about You/Your Culture?
I want my partner students to understand about equality and unity because the board has the same number of pieces from both sides, and all the pieces on each side are the same color (unity.)
About the Artist
Family Details
We are a family of four active members and one dormant one who is my dad. He divorced my mom, and we came from a tribe in central Uganda which is called Buganda.
In What Ways is Cultural Heritage Important?
Through family gatherings I get time to know and bond with my family members.
Likes and Dislikes
I want to be respected, I want to be acknowledged, I want to be loved by my family because they support me emotionally. I hate being undermined, underestimated, and forgotten because I don’t want a people to forget a person who has helped them.
Free Time Activities
I truly enjoy playing guitar (acoustic).
My Role Model
My role model is Tyler Perry, a black American who has directed the best family movies and shows how things can be resolved.
Career Goals
I want to become a neurosurgeon when I grow up because here in Uganda there are many diseases affecting people and they are expensive to treat.
