About the Artwork

My painting represents the tradition of speaking my ancestral language of Q’ueqchi. The men wear hats and engage in conversation with the woman in attempts to court them. The women are in their best clothes reserved for special occasions. Their blouse (wipil), and skirt (corte), are accompanied by a big flower in their hair. This is considered their Sunday best.

I love to play ball and go to church on Sundays with my family.
