What Is the Story?
This purple prayer rug was a gift given to my sisters and I by my Baba (my grandfather) after he traveled home to visit family in Pakistan.
Why did You Select this Story?
My family is multicultural. This prayer rug is a part of my cultural identity. My Baba, Oma, Poppy, and Grandma’s families have lived through hard times, prejudice, and are strong role models.
Who is in Your Story?
Oma and Baba, which means Grandma and Grandpa, gifted my two sisters and I the prayer rug.
Where does It Take Place?
The prayer rug came from Pakistan to my house.
When does it Take Place?
My story takes place in the summer of 2019 after my Baba came from the airport. It was evening.
What do you want to be Understood about You/Your Culture?
I am proud to be multicultural, and I am proud of every part of me.

Family Details
My Oma and Baba immigrated to the USA. My family has 3 religions: Jewish, Christian, and Muslim.
In What Ways is Cultural Heritage Important?
It shows how we can be different and the same at heart.
Likes and Dislikes
I like: swim, dance, singing. Being active makes me strong.
I don’t like: shots, waking up early, and failing. Failing makes me feel that I did not do my best.

I like to listen or watch Freya Skye (a British pop singer and actress)’s music videos.
My Role Model
Robert Irwin (an Australian wildlife conservationist) because he is so strong and he cares about wildlife and teaching people about animals.
Career Goals
I want to work with injured bottle nose dolphins so they can be released to the ocean.
