About the Artwork

What Is the Story?
My drawing shows a poor woman sitting on the street with her children. She is trying to feed them and take care of them with the little money she has collected. My drawing shows the contrast between comfort and poverty and how hard life can be.

Why did You Select this Story?
I selected this story because poverty exists in many places around the world, and sometimes people ignore it. I want people to notice those who are struggling and remember to help when they can. The values behind my story are kindness, empathy, and gratititude.

Who is in Your Story?
There is a poor mother and her children sitting on the street and a girl simply walking and seeing them, observing and realizing their situation.

Where does It Take Place?
It takes place in a street in Amman, Jordan.

When does it Take Place?
My story takes place this year, on Ramadan, March 2nd.

What do you want to be Understood about You/Your Culture?
I want them to understand that in my culture people care about family and helping others. My drawing shows that it is important to notice people who are struggling.
