What Is the Story?
Hi my name is Kaddijatou Jallow I am here to talk about Koriteh Day (A Muslim West African celebration that marks the end of Ramadan). On Koriteh Day my mother woke me up very early. I dressed neatly in my new clothes and after breakfast we went to the mosque. And prayed in a group led by the Imam (a Muslim religious leader). At home I ate rice and chicken for lunch and I went to my grandmother’s house. Some of them gave me some money for salibo (a tradition where children receive money during holidays). At night I do not go out I stayed at home with my family and friends. And I watched a musical show on the television. I watch my mother’s phone. And I love Koriteh day it is the best forever.

Family Details
1. Actually, my grandma is indigenous, and my mom is too! I’ve never been to our community.
2. My younger brother and I have a close relationship.
In What Ways is Cultural Heritage Important?
For me, cultural heritage can help me find myself and let me know who I am. One of the important things is family, the connection between me and my family is very strong and cohesive.
Likes and Dislikes
My favorite food is chocolate yogurt. I also like playing the guitar and listening to music. I dislike the comander, caterpillar. I play the guitar because I always feel comfortable when I do this. I dislike comander because it doesn’t smell well.
Free Time Activities
I like to exercise, cook, and outdoor activities, such as exploring some places I’ve never been before.
My Role Model
I think it is my mom, because when I feel upset or stressful, my mom always listens to my heart and encourages me.
Career Goals
I want to be a teacher because I like playing with children, I think they are really cute and innocent.
