About the Artwork

You may not understand why I chose to draw a tree. The tree would be me or any Jordanian, or it could be Jordan itself. The roots mean that we stay grounded. We have limits and boundaries. We stick to our culture, yet the branches depict our freedom. The value I am depicting is remembering where we come from no matter how far we grow.

I am symbolically the tree.

I live with my mother and sister. I love them. My mother provides freedom to make my own mistakes and learn from them. In my free time, I play guitar, hang out with friends, write or go on the laptop. I don’t like TV. When I grow up, I want to be a writer or film director.
