About the Artwork

In my art piece I wanted to describe one of the traditions we have here in Chicago, which is the Puerto Rican parade. All Puerto Ricans celebrate the history of Puerto Ricans like Oscar Lopez Rivera which was a Puerto Rican activist.

Featured: The moment I am sharing is my idea about desert life and culture.

The value that I’m showing in my artwork is a community getting together to celebrate Puerto Rican history. It is important to me because it is when my whole family gets together and we all see each other. I have eleven sisters. I live with my mom. My family is full of Puerto Ricans. We love each other and give each other help if needed. In my free time I like to draw and let out my imagination with just a paper and a pencil. I like getting an “A” on a test and I like art. I dislike getting an “F” on anything and I dislike food that is supposed to be made with sugar. My goals are to go to Lane Tech College Prep High School. Then for college I would like to go to Columbia college so that I can become a police officer.
