The story I’m illustrating is one of creativity. It was during my sewing elective in my afterschool program, showing growth in the craft.

In my story, the people involved are my friends, Juliette and Huberline.

My story takes place in my afterschool program.
When does it Take Place?
The setting of my illustration takes place in 6th grade on a Spring day.
What do you want to be Understood about You/Your Culture?
I want my partner students to understand my development as an artist, and see it unravel. I aspire to create pieces through my imagination.

Family Details
In my home life I live with my mother, father, and younger brother. My family origins stem form Costa Rica to Guatemala. My heritage as a Hispanic, with the art, music, dance, and voice.
In What Ways is Cultural Heritage Important?
My culture is important to me because it describes the journey my parents took. The immigration for a better life, their challenges and stories.
Likes and Dislikes
I enjoy quiet places, poetry, and my house. These things ground my emotions and poetry allows me to express them. However, I dislike loud sounds, yelling, and doctors. This is due to my sensitivity.
Free Time Activities
I like to draw and write in my free time. I often listen to music which inspires me further.
My Role Model
My role models are the creators online who share their music and art as well as authors like Karen K McManus.
Career Goals
I wish to be a writer. I enjoy the freedom and flow. Many have told me I have a future in literature, and I want to make people feel emotions.
