The story I am illustrating is showing me and my cousin, Cassidy. We were on vacation at Camp-of-the-Woods, a resort for Christians in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. We are paddling through the lake that Camp of the
Woods sits on: Lake Pleasant. In the middle of this lake is Tapawingo, an all girls’ camp. The backstory is that Cassidy and I had told our parents we would canoe out to Tapawingo. They didn’t believe we would actually paddle the two miles, so they just said “”okay””. To prove them wrong we set out with Cassidy in the back, for steering, and me in front, for speed. We were about halfway there
when our uncle came out in his kayak to tell us to return to shore. We obeyed and once on land told our parents we told them we would do it; they just didn’t believe us. We still really wanted to go. So, after some negotiating, we were allowed to canoe to Tapawingo with the escort of some family members in kayaks. We then paddled all the way there and each got a rock from the island. We got back to Camp of the Woods just in time for dinner. I selected this story because it is my favorite memory with my cousin. I wanted to highlight the part of my story that both spends time in nature and is with my family. These are two things that are important to me. In my picture, there is me and my cousin Cassiddy. It takes place in Lake Pleasant in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. My cousin and I are canoeing to the middle of the lake to an island called Tapawingo: a girl’s summer camp.

In my family, there are five of us – two adults and three kids, one boy and two girls. I am a middle child with a younger sister named Liesl and older brother named Gabe. We
have three pets: a service dog for my brother (Breezey), my
cat I got for my eleventh birthday. who we call Wingo. And lastly my sister’s betta fish she named bluey. He is named after the island Tapawingo shown in my drawing. I enjoy many things such as art. I mostly draw with pencils and color with either alcohol markers or colored pencils. I love animals, especially my pet cat, Wingo and our dog, Breezy. I like spending time with friends and family, specifically my cousin Cassiddy. We are 1 year apart in age, and I spend all my time with her when we go on vacation. I love spending time outside in my stream and climbing trees in my backyard or while on hikes. I also have multiple dislikes. I don’t like rollercoasters because they make me too motion sick. I don’t like spicy food either because I have almost no spice tolerance. Another food I don’t like is olives because they taste really bad to me. Also, a food a lot of people enjoy but I don’t is lasagna. This is because I don’t like the type of cheese that it is made with. When I grow up, the job that I want to work in is a marine biologist. I want to work in an aquarium or research animals in a lab and out in the wild. If I were to work as an aquarium worker I would specifically want to work with seals or penguins. I would love to train them and be a caretaker for them. My mother was a marine biologist for a few years, before she had kids, and she has inspired me.
