1999 - A Day in the Life of My Country

Welcome to this year’s international exhibit, featuring the work of young artists from around the world.

Assignment: Art classes from these 14 countries were given the task to select any 24-hour period in their students’ day-to-day lives. The young artists were asked to portray through art some of the scenes that might take place on that day from early morning until late at night. Each artist was asked to include either in the piece’s title or somewhere in the art itself an indication of the time of day depicted.

The 100 or so pieces selected were chosen from the well over 1,000 pieces that were exchanged through our ArtLink exchange program. The resulting exhibit presents a wonderful variety of excellent children’s art providing an insightful glimpse into the daily lives of young people from around the world.
