Creative Connections’ International Young Performers’ Tour is thrilled to present “Children of Bassac”, the acclaimed youth dance troupe from Phnom Penh, Cambodia in a performance at Stepping Stones Museum for Children on Saturday, April 3.
In this one-hour family-friendly performance, the 17-23 year old dancers will present a selection of intricate, stylised temple dances and lively folk dances. Their colorful costumes are breathtaking.
Audience members will see demonstrations of traditional Khmer instruments and sing and dance with the performers on stage.
Children (of ALL ages) are welcome to participate in a one-hour Khmer dance workhop at the museum at 11 am. Here everyone will be taught simple elements of Cambodian dance by the dancers themselves. They will also get to meet dancers in a Q&A session.
