How does the environment affect one’s culture? This innovative Artlink program features the formation of unique classroom partnerships between students from the United States and countries in the rainforest regions of Latin-America. Partner classes exchange art on an environmental theme and are given the opportunity to question their partners in a live video- or tele-conference. Given the unique location of the international partner classes the dialogue focuses on the impact of environment on culture.
By participating in Rainforest ArtLink, your students will learn to:
- Be introspective about their environment, their culture and their place in it.
- Use art to communicate aspects of their environment and culture.
- Understand, by examining their partner’s art, the realities that exist in their region.
- Discover and explore the values that underlie the surface aspects of culture.
- Appreciate the cultures of students participating from other rainforest countries.
- Become environmentally conscious global citizens.

- An energized, motivated partner art class and full contact information.
- Comprehensive program guidelines and intro workshop, both with lesson ideas.
- Our office staff, always available, for advice over the course of the exchange.

Guatemala, Colombia, Panama, Mexico, Belice and Ecuador

Program runs from January througth May.
