All over the world, Creative Connections’ students have the opportunity to connect with one another. When students in different countries connect, they bring the world closer together.

Today, we urgently need your support. Help us raise $35,000 to create and sustain connections in two of Creative Connections’ noteworthy exchange programs:

– Our RainForest ArtLink partnerships in Guatemala and the Brazilian Amazon
– Our International Young Performance Tour partnership with Tender Talents School in Uganda

Creating 30 Connections in the Rainforest regions of Guatemala and Brazil

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”25983″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”26001″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]For the past nine years, through art and live videoconferencing exchanges, Creative Connections’ unique Rainforest ArtLink has linked classrooms in the US with those found in schools in the rainforest region of Guatemala.

The program has allowed US students studying rain forests and its vital impact on climate change to develop an unforgettable human connection with their peers actually living in that region. Students not only start to gain a greater appreciation for the interconnectedness of the world’s ecosystems, but stereotypical cultural attitudes on both sides are typically broken down.

This year, we have been given the extraordinary opportunity to run exchanges with new partners in the heart of the Brazilian Amazon. With your help, participating students in riverside communities will create and exchange art with their American partners. After traveling hours by river boat to reach a science research station with internet, they will connect with their peers through Creative Connections-facilitated live videoconferences.

Help us provide our students with a profound insiders’ view of culture and the ecological realities that bind us together.

The Need:  $25,000 will enable us to facilitate 30 Rainforest ArtLinks in Latin America, both with Guatemala communities and with our new partners in the Brazilian Amazon.  [/vc_column_text][vc_button_new label=”DONATE” size=”large” url=”https://crm.bloomerang.co/HostedDonation?ApiKey=pub_4192d580-56e0-11e3-a756-02a718d18e56&WidgetId=753664″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Creating 30 Connections with the Ugandan Abantu Nu Buntu troupe

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]As part of our annual International Young Performers’ Tour, we have invited Abantu Mu Buntu, a troupe of young talented singers, dancers and drummers attending the Tender Talents School in Ugandan to travel to the US for a two-week visit. Here they will give thirty spirited school performances and cultural workshops (in-classroom sessions where they connect personally with students.)

The only school of its kind in Uganda, Tender Talents provides its students with a rich exposure and training in the arts while preparing them academically for college entrance. Many of TT’s children are from Northern Uganda, a war torn region where recently child soldiers were more prevalent then students. Half of the students attending the school are offered full or substantial scholarships.

We have had the privilege of working with Tender Talents’ founders Frank and Brenda Katoola for 20 years in our ArtLink and performance tour program. Their student performers’ joy, sincerity, and spirit always provide an unforgettable connecting experience for all students they work with here.

The Need:$10,000 will enable us to bring Abantu Mu Buntu to schools in Bridgeport. It will also help defray the tours’ costly transportation expenses.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_button_new label=”DONATE” size=”large” url=”https://crm.bloomerang.co/HostedDonation?ApiKey=pub_4192d580-56e0-11e3-a756-02a718d18e56&WidgetId=753664″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
